As a relatively new “photographer,” I’m constantly looking for inspiring travel and photography Instagram accounts to follow. Not only are they great for photography tips, they’re also perfect for finding future travel destination ideas I may not have considered before. Some of these are largely well-known travel accounts, some have a specific theme or style, and some repost the best travel photos from around the world.
Nevertheless, I find all of these accounts ridiculously inspiring. Here are a few of my favorites – let me know if there are any others you’d recommend in the comments below! <3
A collection of some of the most epic, exhilarating and breathtaking travel shots.
Direct and to the point, photos of people doing really awesome things.
With over 3.1 million followers, Wonderful Places features some of the best travel photos ever posted on Instagram.
TuulaVintage (Jessica Stein)
A perfect combination of travel and fashion.
KardinalMelon (Hatice Korkmaz)
“The Color Queen.” Your Instagram feed just got a whole lot brighter.
Passion Passport is a community of travelers, photographers and storytellers that aim to inspire more people to travel. They also award travel grants every quarter, funding the winner’s dream trip and documenting their experience on the website. Pretty cool stuff!
Some of the coolest underwater photography I’ve seen.
Dreamy and artistic.
World of Wanderlust (Brooke Saward)
An awesome travel blogger that’s been traveling the world for the past year with a super likable personality. If there’s anyone that can convince you to just stop what you’re doing and travel, it’s this girl!
A professional freediving pair, this account features breathtaking photos that showcase the beauty of freediving. I absolutely love everything about it.
Photos that just make you happy to be alive and for me, reminders that the little things don’t matter. Life is good!
A collection of brightly colored/edited photos that are the photographic embodiment of a wanderluster’s daydreams.
A beautiful underwater photography account (is it obvious yet that I wanted to be a mermaid when I was a kid?). She’s a little different than the other underwater photographers I’ve seen – her photos all seem to tell a different story with the unique and wistful poses, pretty dresses, and interesting backgrounds.
If you’re already reading this I doubt you need to find more reasons to prioritize travel and life before work, but this is still an awesome account you should check out. Really amazing photos that will make you want to use up those vacation days!
Last but definitely not least, Nat Geo Travel (and their regular account too) is a MUST. The magazine itself is incredible (and is actually the only one I subscribe to these days) with corresponding great Instagram accounts to add some culture and knowledge to your feed 🙂
